Wanjiru has written 5 books, edited a sixth and written numerous articles in newspapers and magazines over the last 15 years.
She completed writing her third novel titled Silencing Anna in January 2018 and is looking for a publisher.
Her first book, a novel titled The Unbroken Spirit (2005), won third prize in the adult fiction category of the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature in 2007, the biggest and most prestigious literary award in the country. It was published by East African Educational Publishers (Eaep).
She co-authored A Profile of Kenyan Entrepreneurs (2012) with Evans Majeni. Also published by Eaep, it features a dozen of Kenya’s most successful business owners.
She compiled the Blue Book 2014 – The EU and Kenya: Partnership for Development, the annual report on development cooperation between the European Union and Kenya, which was launched on 9 May 2014. She also wrote the Blue Book 2016: Securing the future of the youth and promoting gender equality.
Wanjiru collaborated on a project to compile the speeches, presentations and discussions of the two-day Pan Africa Media Conference held on March 18-19, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya into a book titled Media & The Africa Promise (2011).
The conference was organised by the Nation Media Group and the Africa Media Initiative. Speakers included former President Mwai Kibaki, Rwandese President Paul Kagame, His Highness the Aga Khan, CNN correspondent David McKenzie and Google Africa’s Ory Okolloh.
